Summer offers fun in the sun and nothing goes better with outdoor fun than iced tea. Fruit teas add a refreshing twist to this Southern staple. Here is a super simple peach iced tea! Just 4 simple, real ingredients. And of course it’s sweet, this is the South honey! Am I concerned about the health effects of sugar? Well, I will say that I am far more concerned about the health effects of the chemicals in artificial sweetener. All things in moderation. You can sweeten it with honey as well.
INGREDIENTS:
2 sliced peaches
3 family sized Luzianne (Lipton) tea bags
1 cup of sugar
8 cups of water
DIRECTIONS:
Add the sliced peaches, sugar and 1 cup of water to a sauce pan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
Reduce to medium and stir to dissolve sugar.
Once sugar is dissolved, turn off heat and let sit for 30 minutes.
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil and steep tea bags for 10 minutes.
Add steeped tea and remaining 5 cups of water to tea pitcher. Pour peaches through a strainer and stir to incorporate into tea.
Add ice to chill and serve!
