Being in the kitchen as much as I am, my hands can get a little dry. A decadent salt glow is the perfect remedy. You can order one of course but, you can create one at a fraction of the cost! Much like any recipe, don’t be afraid of substitutions.
Salts: you can go crazy with salt from sea salt to pink Himalayan to kosher. There are hundreds of varieties. The size of the salt grain will hit a different place on your palm so I like a variety or a blend of salts. I add them in equal measure. My favorite trio is medium pink Himalayan, Kosher and del mar (smaller than table salt)
Oil:
You can use a blend of oils like safflower, macadamia and canola. I LOVE solid coconut oil. It won’t spill or make a mess.
Scent:
You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil but, the coconut oil smells fantastic alone!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1/3 cup of cup of medium pink Himalayan salt
- 1/3 cup of cup of fine pink Himalayan Salt
- 1/3 cup of cup of Medium Sea Salt
- 1/2 a cup of solid coconut oil
- A few drops of mint essential oil
If you don’t have essential oils hand try some citrus peel, flowers or mint extract! Cover in an airtight container and it will store for weeks.
To use, place a teaspoon sized amount in your palm and gently work around cuticles, fingers and hands. Let the product do the work. Pat dry. Use at least once a week to keep hands soft and smooth!
Get your glow on,
Michelle
