Summer seems to beg for lemonade and we love this lavender version. Lavender grows almost anywhere and returns after the Winter in the Southeast. It can also be grown in a pot for year round use. This recipe uses honey as a sweeter versus processed sugar. We enjoy the floral quality that it adds. Sugar will work, although it will take more sugar to get the lemonade sweet enough (approximately a cup).
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 1/2 cups steaming hot water
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- Dissolve honey in water
- Add lavender leaves and flowers to water
- Add lemon juice
- Allow mixture to cool and transfer to an ice filled pitcher
