How to make a pie shield

Every find yourself in need of  a pie shield with none to hand?  Without shielding the edges on some recipes you end up with burt crust.  Here is a quick easy way to craft a shield that won’t slip or gape.

  1. Place your pie pan on a piece of tin foil and trace around the base.20181222_110213
  2. Fold the foil in half

  3.  Cut out the center circle and round the edges

  4.  Use the center ring to shield your crust!
